Rachel Bilson is one of my style and beauty icons. She always looks so effortlessly put together and trendy…two things I strive for when getting ready in the mornings. Rachel is gracing the cover of this month’s NYLON magazine, and I am loving the shots I have seen! She has several different outfits and they are all equally amazing! The one that really caught my eye was this little getup.. an orange skirt, a loose polka dot blouse, and a chic denim jacket. She has very simple jewelry and her hair and makeup are kept at a natural minimum. Here are some items that could help you achieve this super stylish Fall look!
Polka dots have hit another big trend wave recently, and I have to say I am quite the fan. This is the Polka Dot Shirt from Zara. It’s slightly different than the one Rachel is wearing…it has more dots and doesn’t have the extra neck tie detailing. There are many blouse options that are similar to this, but this is the one I chose. Just tuck this into the top of your skirt and you’re good to go! I would probably stick to bigger dots rather than tiny ones…I think it adds a fun and unexpected element to the outfit.
Rachel is wearing a darker denim jacket that has a more of a blazer style, but that look can be hard to come across if you aren’t willing to spend big bucks. So here is my alternative: the J.Crew Nolita Jacket in Great Lakes wash. Jean jackets were somewhat of a fashion “don’t” up until a few months ago. Now they add a great casual vibe to any look you pair them with. This jacket choice would be super versatile and could be worn many different ways.
This is my favorite part of the look!.. the orange mini skirt! Rachel’s is a lighter Tennessee orange, but I really like this J.Crew City Mini in Bronze Rust. It’s a bolder and brighter orange shade, but I think it screams Fall and is so so cute! You could also wear this skirt with many different outfits. For this particular look I would just put the skirt on by itself…but with a solid top it would be really cute with a belt at the waist!
Like I said, Rachel has very simple jewelry in this picture. The ring and the bracelet she is wearing are more than likely similar to pieces you would already have at home. Simple is great.. but I kinda think this Forever21 Spiked Stretchy Bracelet would be a fun edgy addition. It just adds another layer to the look, and I’m really digging it! Plus, it’s only $5!
Any dainty gold ring would work perfectly, but if you don’t already have one this Forever21 Star Ring is great! It’s so little and cute. This is a ring you could wear with absolutely everything.. and it is only $2! It doesn’t get much better than that if I do say so myself.
Since it is getting a little chilly out, you might want to pair this look with some tights to keep your legs warm. As far as shoes go anything would work really.
