The end of the year is coming fast, and you better be ready! There are exactly two more weeks until the New Year begins, and I’m surprisingly ready! A new year means a new beginning.. and new trends! For those of you that don’t know, Pantone is a company that is considered the worldwide expert on color. In December they will pick a color for the up and coming year. This color is supposed to be hot in every field, including the cosmetic and fashion industries! The 2012 color of the year has been announced, and it is…TANGERINE TANGO! This is a gorgeous red-orange that is definitely my new favorite shade! Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®, describes the color: “Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it. Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.” Sounds fabulous to me! Lipstick is an easy way to incorporate a bright shade that you might be a little hesitant to wear as clothing. Revlon’s Kiss Me Coral is the perfect corresponding shade to the Tangerine Tango. You will be right on track with this lippy in the coming year! I think bright red lips with a tint of orange are super fun throughout all seasons! This lipstick has awesome staying power and goes on really smooth. I know I will be rocking this shade all year long!
Another beauty product that is easy to wear in this fire hot shade is nail polish! There are so many lacquers you can find in this color. I actually have several different ones, being the polish freak that I am, but the closest would probably be Essie’s Geranium! I love painting my nails in this bright color. It totally brightens my day and gives me a little spark every time I look down!
I have several little dresses in this color, but it would be really hard to appropriately whip them out during the winter. You can, however, sport this orangey Floral Yoke Top from Forever21! You can easily slip this on under a sweater with skinny jeans and be perfectly season appropriate! Go ahead and rock Tangerine Tango now! Nobody’s stopping you from preparing for the new year! Being ahead is never frowned upon in the fashion world!
Shoes are an item that I love to buy in funky colors! I can wear jeans and neutral shades with fun shoes and instantly have a put together outfit. These Vince Camuto Oneda Flats in Mandarin are pretty close to the 2012 color! You could wear them with so many different things for a awesome pop of color. I think they would be great for a day out shopping with your ladies!
If you’re afraid of wearing the color by itself then this Forever21 Colorful Braided Belt is just right for you! It’s a boho chic mix of navy, orange, and purple. You could wrap this around your waist over top a cute little dress and tights. Step into some black patent pumps or slouchy boots and you have a super cute outfit with the perfect hint of spicy orange!
